Learn what happens with Frank’s estranged mother and Laura’s opportunistic brother Maury, as she tries to keep him from spending the portion of money she secretly gave their parents. The other pool members have problems of their own, including trying to stave off a vindictive ex-girlfriend who gets a tip that her son’s father is part of the lottery win, financial conflict in a new marriage because the husband is not part of the pool, and trying to decide if using their windfall for good is worth leaving those they love. While each family presses through their own issues, the lottery win causes an undesirable effect on their church, all while a no-nonsense reporter goes against the pastor’s wishes, and makes it her mission to break the lottery story. |
